University tuition fee rise affect unclear in Guernsey

It remains unclear whether the rise in university fees in England will affect Guernsey students in the long term.

Guernsey's Education Minister said the current arrangement, which sees them treated as overseas students, is in place until 2012.

Deputy Carol Steere, said her department was working hard to avoid any increase in the future.

She said Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man were working together in their discussions with the UK.
