Guernsey's ormer population 'remains stable'

  • Published

Guernsey's population of ormers remains at a stable level, according to Sea Fisheries Officer Chris Morris.

Sea Fisheries patrols the coast to ensure islanders stay in line with the rules on gathering the mollusc.

Mr Morris said the measures in place were working to ensure the population was in good shape.

He said: "The restrictions on the minimum landing size and the way you can catch ormers... ensures the stock can continue to reproduce."
