Guernsey dog owners told to control pets

Guernsey Police are reminding dog owners to ensure they keep their animals under control at all times.

The warning comes after the killing of 15 chickens at Vazon, believed to have been caused by two loose Labrador dogs.

Andy Goodall, crime reduction advisor, said owners could not expect other people to ensure their pets do not cause problems.

He said: "You can't let them wonder loose as you never know what they're going to get up to."

Mr Goodall said: "It's your responsibility to keep them in, not other people's responsibility to keep them out,.

"When I say keep them in I don't necessarily mean inside a building, but keep them on your property.

"If you've got dogs please make sure you've got the facilities for them."
