Guernsey Police has warned about a scam targeting people on the island involving text messages allegedly being sent from Nokia.

The text messages tell people they have won money but must provide their bank details in order to claim it.

Det Sgt Andy Whitton said: "Never give your bank details to a stranger, especially if all you know about them is their telephone number."

Nokia said it was aware of the scam and advised deleting without responding.
