The royal wedding on 29 April will be a public holiday in the island, the States of Guernsey has decided.
A majority of States Members voted in favour of celebrating the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton with a day off.
The cost of the public holiday to the States has been estimated to be up to £200,000.
It follows decisions by the other Channel Islands of Alderney, Sark and Jersey to declare the day as a holiday.
