Teenage boy rescued from Guernsey south coast cliffs

A 13-year-old boy had to be rescued from cliffs on Guernsey's south coast on Sunday.

St John Ambulance and Rescue were alerted after the teenager was seen shouting and waving in a small gully between Petit Port and Moulin Huet.

The rescue team abseiled more than 160m through thick gorse to reach him.

The boy, who had got his foot stuck in a crevice, was rescued at 2045 GMT after a four-hour operation and was taken to hospital with an ankle injury.
