Guernsey Border Agency targets money movements
- Published
The Guernsey Border Agency has been highlighting the restrictions for carrying money in and out of the island.
The agency said recent checks at the airport has shown many islanders were unaware of the 10,000 euro (£8,800) upper limit.
The checks involved the use of Bella, a UK Border Agency sniffer dog.
Rob Prow, agency chief, said they would continue to work with the UK dog teams from time to time.
Under the Cash Controls Law of 2007 it is not just banknotes that qualify, but also coins in any currency, postal orders, cheques of any kind, bankers drafts, bearer bonds and bearer shares, postage stamps, bullion ingots and coins.
