Blue Islands outsources check-in and baggage handling

Blue Islands has outsourced check-in and baggage handling at Guernsey Airport.

The airline said the 25 staff in those roles currently would be offered jobs with Airbase Flight Support, which is taking them over.

Rob Veron, Blue Islands managing director, said he hoped the move would give staff more flexible working conditions and better benefits.

He said the company were well-placed to take on what was a specialist role.

Staff will continue to work under the Blue Islands brand.
