Guernsey Electricity sorry for taking money too soon

  • Published

Guernsey Electricity has apologised to some of its customers after removing funds from their bank accounts on a date earlier than advertised.

It follows what the company described as "an IT problem".

The correct amount was deducted from the accounts of some customers who pay by direct debit, but seven days earlier than they had been notified.

Operations director Bob Beebe said the company was working to rectify the issue.
