Guernsey summer temperatures the lowest since 1993

Guernsey's Met Office has reported the island's coldest summer for 18 years.

The average temperature between 1 June and 31 August was 15.2C (59.4F) with June, July and August all less sunny and more wet than the average.

The highest temperature recorded was 27.6C (81.7F) on 26 June but a Guernsey Met spokesman said "there were no sustained periods of warmth".

He said changeable weather patterns meant the UK, like Guernsey, had also seen its lowest averages since 1993.
