Work begins on a new foul water pumping station

Work has begun on the installation of a new foul water pumping station at L'Eree on Guernsey's west coast.
The facility is part of an extensive scheme being carried out by Guernsey Water to connect more properties to the island's 'main drain' sewer system.
Similar stations will be installed under the Network Extension Programme, eventually allowing properties in Torteval to be connected.
The work at L'Eree will cost about £1.4m.
The figure includes the installation of pipelines and the construction of the station, which will be positioned mostly underground.
The work means the northern half of the L'Eree car park has been closed, and recycling facilities moved to the southern end.
