Fundraising for Battle of Britain down £4k
- Published
Fundraising during the Battle of Britain week in Guernsey was down £4,000 on 2010 after the cancellation of its headline event.
The air display, which was due to feature the Red Arrows and a Skyraider, was cancelled due to poor visibility.
The cancellation led to a drop of 50-60% in the funds donated on the day of the display.
However, events throughout the week boosted the total to £21,000 for the RAFA Battle of Britain Wings Appeal.
The annual display costs about £60,000 and is funded by the Battle of Britain Air Display Consortium, which is made up of local companies.
