Guernsey States reject electronic voting

  • Published

Guernsey politicians have voted against the introduction of an electronic voting system.

The States Assembly and Constitution Committee had suggested using voting buttons in place of the current roll-call recorded vote.

Deputies voted 23-21, with one abstention, against the proposal.

During the debate some deputies argued the move would not save time or make deputies more accountable to the public.
