Guernsey report: No mass renewable energy until 2020s

The States of Guernsey's Commerce and Employment Department has said mass renewable energy is unlikely to appear in the island until the 2020s.

Its Renewable Energy Team (RET) said existing devices were too expensive and not advanced enough for commercial use.

A report predicted Guernsey would be seen as an attractive renewable energy location in about eight years' time.

Deputy Robert Sillars, Chairman of RET, said the report should assist renewable energy investment in the future.
