States 'unlikely' to fund Guernsey FC stadium

The States is unlikely to be able to fund a new stadium for Guernsey FC, according to the island's Culture and Leisure Minister.
It follows news the club may consider getting a purpose-built stadium if it continues to climb the English non-league pyramid.
The side currently plays at States-owned Footes Lane, which is also used by Guernsey Rugby Club.
Deputy Mike O'Hara said upgrading that site was an option in the short term.
He said: "They'll obviously be consideration of cost and the overall ambience of the stadium generally, but we are looking at it to see if things can be implemented for it."
Deputy O'Hara said he would support the club in trying to find a new home, but it would have to source private funding and land for a new ground.
