Guernsey's Beau Sejour pool to close for three weeks

The swimming pool at Guernsey's Beau Sejour Leisure Centre is to close for three weeks for essential maintenance.

The 25m (82ft) pool will be unavailable from 21 July to 10 August while its filtration tanks undergo repairs that are required every seven years.

In addition, the entire centre is set to close for one day on 21 July for repairs to the water main.

During the pool closure, St Sampson's High School will offer public swimming sessions at Beau Sejour's usual prices.

On most days, the school will host one or two sessions lasting three to four hours but no swimming is being offered on 21 July and 7 and 9 August.

Martyn Bourgaize, the centre manager, said: "We do hope that regular pool users appreciate that this work is required."

"We have tried to carry out the works during a quieter time, which is historically during the summer holidays," he said.
