Guernsey roads closed for 19th Century pipe renewal work

  • Published

Parts of St Peter Port's Old Quarter have been closed to traffic to allow for the replacement of 19th Century waste water pipes.

Guernsey Water will spend six weeks on the work, which will see sections of Vauvert closed to motorists.

The company said the current pipe system was at risk of overloading in heavy rainfall.

Andrew Redhead, director of water services, said the work would be split into two phases.
