A 29-year old man has denied stealing a fish from the Aquarium in Guernsey, but has admitted a charge of fraud.

Matthew Andrew Clark, of St Sampson, appeared before the magistrates' court accused of stealing a bass and entering it in a local competition.

Mr Clark admitted trying to claim an £800 prize in the Bailiwick Bass Club competition earlier in the month.

He denied the charge of theft and will make a third appearance in court at a later date.
