Guernsey Sports Commission scheme's 'record success'
- Published
This summer's Guernsey Sports Commission's Quids In Programme has become the most successful so far.
The scheme was launched in 2009 and allows children to participate in a range of sports for £1 a session.
Oliver Tracey, from the commission, said with three weeks left of the five-week course more children had already signed up than last year.
He said nearly 200 children were taking part in a range of sports including tennis, boxing, judo and surfing.
The single sports are open to all secondary school children in the island, while those at primary schools can take part in multi-sport sessions.
