Guernsey States approves aircraft registry

Guernsey's politicians have committed to developing an aircraft registry with or without Jersey.

The States has approved the drafting of legislation to allow a registry to be set up and operated in the island.

Commerce and Employment Minister Kevin Stewart told members it was important to get on with the job, despite delays at Jersey's end.

He said: "I'm not going to sit around waiting for everyone else to join in, I want to move forward."

Deputy Stewart added: "I want Guernsey to take the opportunity, but I have left the door open to Jersey."
