Clydesdale Bank shutting its Guernsey operation

Nineteen jobs are to go at Clydesdale Bank International as the Guernsey-based operation is set to close.
The company has closed to new business and will run down its existing customer accounts before it closes, which will not be before 2014.
In a statement, it said there was no immediate impact on existing customers and access to funds would be made regardless of product restrictions.
The move follows a review of its parent company's worldwide operations.
Andrew Pearce, retail director of the Australia-owned Clydesdale Bank, said: "[We] are concentrating our efforts on what we do best in those areas we are strongest.
"Our focus now is to work with colleagues and customers to ensure that everybody understands this change, and that we manage a smooth transition."
Clydesdale Bank International offers savings products designed for expats and , residents of offshore centres.
