Guernsey's holocaust memorial plaque has been repaired and reinstated.
Technical staff at Guernsey Museums, who are trained in conservation work, applied a new surface coating and securing pins and remounted it.
The three Jewish women named on the plaque were deported from the island by occupying German forces in 1942.
Guernsey Police said two men arrested on suspicion of vandalising the memorial had been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
A spokesman for the Culture and Leisure Department said there were no significant costs involved.
The Channel Islands were the only part of British soil occupied by German troops during World War II.
The islands were invaded in June 1940 and liberated in May 1945.
Marianne Grunfeld, Auguste Spitz and Therese Steiner all died at the Auschwitz camp, following their deportation from Guernsey.
