Guernsey Daisy Chain Pre-School to shut over funding

A Guernsey pre-school will close due to a lack of long-term funding, its manager has said.

Daisy Chain Pre-School is based at Styx Western Parish Community Centre and with 32 children aged from two to five.

Makela Harrison said a £10,000 donation from the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery would keep it open until July.

She said all its funds came from charitable donations and to continue running they needed to have two years' funding - about £60,000 - guaranteed.
