The Commonwealth Games baton is due to arrive in Guernsey for a three-day visit as part of its worldwide tour taking in 70 nations and territories.

The Queen's Baton international relay aims to demonstrate the unity and diversity of the Commonwealth.

It will be officially welcomed by the island's Commonwealth Games Team at Beau Sejour on Tuesday evening.

It contains a message from the Monarch, which will be revealed at the opening of the 2014 Games in Glasgow in July.

The baton arrives from Jersey and will next head to the Isle of Man.
