Guernsey Beau Sejour pool could be lengthened

A Guernsey swimming pool, which is 16mm (0.6in) too short for regional competitions, could be lengthened.
Electronic timing boards have been fitted to the 25m (82ft) pool at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre, shortening its overall length.
It means regional and national competitions in the island can only be held at St Sampson's High School.
Culture and Leisure Minister Mike O'Hara said he supported the move, although the costs were not yet clear.
He said the work, which would involve draining and retiling parts of the pool, "would be money well spent".
Deputy O'Hara said it was important the island's swimmers had the facilities they needed.
Nine of the 39-strong Guernsey team heading to the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games are swimmers.
