Alderney man charged with attempted murder of woman

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman found injured in Alderney.

Island resident Robin DuPont, 56, was arrested after the 55-year-old victim was found on Wednesday morning.

The woman was treated at Le Mignot Hospital and later transferred to Guernsey where she is described as being in a "stable condition" .

Mr DuPont has been remanded in custody by Guernsey's Ordinary Court. He is due to appear at the Royal Court in March.

Ch Insp Andrew Hockey, of Guernsey Police, said: "Our team of officers are continuing their inquiries into this investigation, and additional resources remain in Alderney to carry this out."
