A minister from the UK government will visit Alderney on 25 October.

Mike Freer, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice, will be hosted by the States of Alderney President William Tate.

Mr Tate said: "His visit now underpins the importance of our enduring and important relationship with the Crown."

Mr Freer is expected to meet elected members and also representatives from Alderney Chamber of Commerce.

He will also be given a tour of the island including the Hammond Memorial, the airport, hospital and will attend the Age Concern social afternoon in the Island Hall.
