People will be given advice on switching to fibre

Elderly people who live in properties that can take fibre broadband are being offered help to make the switch.

Internet provider Sure is working with Age Concern to co-host four meetings across the island during November.

Attendees will be given information about why the island is switching over to fibre and how they can make the change to the new network.

Sure said it wants to "make switching over as easy as possible, whether by email, phone, in store or online".

It is part of a project to convert 30,000 premises to a fibre-based broadband and landline service by the end of 2026.
