A burst water pipe has caused damage to Delancey Campus

A burst water pipe at the The College of Further Education's Delancey Campus in Guernsey caused damage on Wednesday.

The water caused part of the ceiling to come down and the corridor to flood.

The burst pipe was in the Access Area of the campus, where students with learning difficulties and disabilities are taught.

Jacki Hughes, executive principal of The Guernsey Institute, said it "briefly blocked access to a classroom".

The pipe was repaired the same day by the college's estates team.

Ms Hughes said the Transforming Education Programme team recently secured emergency minor capital funding to target the most "egregious parts" of the college's estate.

"This money will be invested in window repairs, gutter and roofing repairs and ceiling repairs across both Delancey and Coutanchez," she said.
