It is hoped the Guernsey Mark will celebrate the quality and diversity of local products

A new scheme to showcase local produce on menus across Guernsey is due to be launched in April.

The Guernsey Mark, created by Chantal Lee Rautenbach, will indicate which dishes contain ingredients that are made, grown or reared on the island.

Ms Rautenbach, who runs Guernsey Hampers, said she wanted to celebrate the quality and diversity of local products.

The Guernsey Mark logo features a stylised G for Guernsey.

The scheme has received funding from the Tourism Development Fund.

'Amazing produce'

Ms Rautenbach said: "I don't think we could have done it without the funding.

"Whatever food we can find locally, if people are using it on their menus we would like them to use the logo.

"There is just so much to shout about."
