Guernsey households urged to complete spending survey

People across Guernsey are being urged to take part in a household expenditure survey.
Randomly selected addresses have been receiving invitations in a bid to get 1,000 households to take part before the October deadline.
The survey gathers anonymous information to find out the average living cost.
The results will help calculate inflation.
Helen Walton, head of data and analysis at the States, said it was vital enough people took part "to represent the population".
People taking part will be asked to complete a questionnaire and also to fill out a confidential spending diary.
Ms Walton said: "A common emerging theme is that, in comparison to previous years, people seem to be available at home less.
"Therefore, we are now providing the option of completing the fieldworker-assisted questionnaires over video call for those who would find this more convenient."
Invitations are still being sent out to households, Ms Walton added.
People who participate will be entered into a cash prize draw with a chance of winning up to £150.
Alternatively they can collect a cash payment of £20 for the first adult and a further £10 for each other person aged 16 or older and £5 for each person aged 15 or younger in the household.
The survey will run until October.
