A Guernsey charity wants to highlight how physical activity can help Parkinson's patients.

Parkinson's Guernsey is hosting an awareness day at the King George V community centre between 10:00 BST and 12:00 on Saturday.

The charity said the event would discuss how activities could help manage symptoms.

It added other organisations and healthcare professionals would also be at the event.

'Interactive demonstrations'

Parkinson's Guernsey said the event was open to the whole community.

The charity said it would include demonstrations of activities aimed at encouraging physical activity and social engagement, including walking football, pickleball and padel tennis.

It said: "This event aims to raise awareness about Parkinson's Disease, provide information and support to people with Parkinson's and their loved ones, reassure those affected by Parkinson's that they can lead fulfilling lives with the right support and resources available locally and highlight the valuable work of our charity Parkinson's Guernsey."

The awareness day will be held in the Spensley and Lansdown rooms in the community centre.
