The Isle of Man Wind Orchestra is keen to recruit brass players and percussionists

The Isle of Man Wind Orchestra has been invited to perform at the Royal Northern College of Music.

The group will travel to Manchester to take part in a wind and brass weekend in October.

During the weekend band members will take part in a series of masterclasses led by College teaching staff.

Since winning silver at a national concert last year the orchestra is thought to be one to the top community based groups in the British Isles.

Musical Director Paul Dunderdale said: "It will be a challenge for members of the orchestra to perform before their peers and one we are looking forward to."

The orchestra's next concert in the Isle of Man is at the Castletown Methodist Church on 30 September.
