Manx vintage horse tram needs new home

The Manx horse tram was built in 1935
A Manx horse tram believed to be the last of its kind in the world is in need of a new home.
The Douglas horse car No 49 had been stored in the Manx Transport Trust site in Jurby but the space is needed.
If a new home is not found the commercial vehicle, which was built in 1935, will be dismantled.
Chairman of the Isle of Man Railway and Tramway Preservation Society, Robert Hendry, said: "If you have something unique do you destroy it?"

He added: "The people stopped building horse trams in 1900 when electric trams came in.
"This one was built 35 years after the last horse tram was ever built in the British Isles, I know of nowhere else in the world that was building horse trams in 1935.
"Unique is an appallingly overused word but it is most definitely unique."
