Peel Commissioners say the scheme will benefit residents and visitors

An Isle of Man town could have free wireless internet access, as part of the area's modernisation.

Peel Commissioners said they were hoping to provide wi-fi, which they claim will be of benefit to residents and visitors to the area.

Commissioner Rodger Gimbert said all areas of the internet would be offered free of charge in the first instance.

It would then be refined so the Manx government and council sites were free but others were on a pay-per-use basis.
