Manx surnames feature on new set of stamps

The most popular Manx surnames from the census of 1891 are featured in a new collection from Isle of Man Post.
The project has been launched ahead of the opening of Manx National Heritage's iMuseum in March 2011.
The digital museum, or family history resource centre, gives people access to material going back hundreds of years.
The new service will enable people to go online to view Manx newspapers from as far back as the 1700s, or to listen to native Manx speakers from the 1950s.

Isle of Man Stamps & Coins, the Isle of Man Family History Society and Manx National Heritage are offering one person the opportunity to win a day at the imuseum dedicated to researching their Manx family tree.
"Whether you are taking your first steps into researching your family history or need some guidance along the way, the competition offers a great opportunity to get started on uncovering your Manx family connections at the new iMuseum," said Lynsey Radcliffe from Manx National Heritage.
Entry forms are available at Post Offices around the island from Friday, 18 February.
