Adam Wood succeeds Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks as the island's lieutenant governor

The Isle of Man's new Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood has met with hundreds of local residents during his first public appearance.

In an official ceremony at Castle Rushen Mr Wood became the island's 29th Crown representative on the island.

Mr Wood recently retired from the British Diplomatic Service after a distinguished career in diplomacy and international development.

His final post was Africa director at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
