TT Clerk apologies for 'whinging' comment

  • Published

The Clerk of the TT course has apologised "unreservedly" after telling course marshals to "stop whinging".

Eddie Nelson made the comments on the race communication system following complaints about delays in removing marshals from the mountain after races.

Mr Nelson said he regrets the words he used in the heat of the moment.

He added: "I fully respect and applaud the work that the marshals do for the TT and I fully understand that we could not run the event without any of them".

It is hoped Mr Nelson's apology along with a commitment from the Manx police force to help remove the marshals from the Mountain course after racing, will help to resolve tension before the main racing schedule at the weekend.
