Gas prices increasing on Isle of Man

  • Published

The Isle of Man energy company Manx Gas has announced that it is to increase the price of gas.

The company said global increases have forced up local prices and customers would face increases in both natural gas and liquid petroleum gas (LPG).

Natural gas will go up by 2.5% while LPG will go up by 8%, which is 75p per unit.

A company spokesman said the price increases for both types of fuel were due to start from 1 August 2011.

Householders using 10,000 units of LPG a year can expect to see a £75 yearly increase while those using the same amount of natural gas can expect bills to rise by £16.
