Isle of Man ready for Big Tidy Up

More than two tonnes of litter was collected in last year's Big Tidy Up.
Preparations are under way for a massive campaign to tackle the Isle of Man's litter problem.
The Bid Tidy Up takes place from 30 September to 1 October, with Douglas Council leading the way in the island-wide clean-up.
The council is urging other local authorities to back the campaign which has been endorsed by Castletown, Maughold and Patrick councils.
Last year's Big Tidy Up collected 2.167 tonnes of litter.
The council hopes the campaign will attract support from volunteer groups, charities businesses, private individuals and schools.
It is going to provide protective tabards, litter picks, gloves, brushes and bags, and will also collect all litter gathered and bagged in the borough of Douglas.
Council Leader Councillor David Christian said: "Clearly the campaign captured the public mood, as we hope it will this year when once again it will be supported by council."
