Manx longboat joins Thames Diamond Jubilee flotilla

Thousands of boats took part in the Thames flotilla
A Manx Viking longship and a Peel lifeboat volunteer have represented the Isle of Man in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant in London.
The longship was crewed by a team of 12 from the island in the manpowered section of the flotilla.
It was transported by a freighter from Ramsey to Lancashire on Wednesday and then taken by road to London.
Meanwhile the station mechanic at Peel RNLI, Paul Cain, joined 12 UK volunteers on a Tamar class lifeboat.
About 1,000 boats took part in the river pageant, from tall ships to kayaks.
