Isle of Man TT: Samaritan in wet TT biker appeal
- Published
Hundreds of Isle of Man residents have come forward to offer help to TT tourists caught up in the bad weather.
A social networking campaign has been launched to encourage people to offer festival visitors hot meals, overnight accommodation and showers.
The persistent rain has disrupted the TT racing schedule, with the senior race being postponed until Saturday.
Organiser Adrian Christian said: "I have been blown away by the kindness and generosity people have shown."
Mr Christian, who is also a Samaritans worker, has created a poster which residents can download and display in their window, in several languages, to offer help.
"I just put myself in the shoes of a wet, cold biker and knew people would like to help out," he continued.
A Facebook page has received almost 1,000 likes within 24 hours.
More than 30,000 bikers will visit the Isle of Man during TT week.
The forecast for Saturday is better with light rain predicted for the morning, but sunnier intervals later.
