Isle of Man donates to Yemen food crisis

The Isle of Man Overseas Aid Committee has pledged £50,000 in emergency aid to help alleviate a food crisis in Yemen.
The committee approved funds to assist the charity Oxfam provide food to an estimated 10 million Yemenis.
Aid agencies working in the area said many people could not afford to buy enough food to feed their families.
Committee Chairman Phil Gawne said: "The critical food security situation and internal conflict are driving families to absolute poverty."
He added: "Oxfam and other bodies are already responding to the crisis and we know that this money will go some way to providing relief to those in need."
