Isle of Man by-election fraud trial delayed

The trial of a number of people accused of election fraud in the Isle of Man has been delayed.

The defendants face charges relating to the Douglas East by-election which was held on the island in May 2010.

Last week a jury of three men and four women, were sworn in at Douglas Court House for the trial.

Legal argument ahead of the trial delayed the start which is now expected on Tuesday.

The by-election was held in May 2010 after the seat was made vacant following Phil Braidwood's elevation to the Legislative Council in April.
