A spring clean prompted by "serious marine litter pollution" on a beach along the Isle of Man's south coast has taken place.

Manx charity Beach Buddies launched the volunteer operation, at Fleshwick Bay, amid concerns from the public.

The organisation said the beach is "in a poor state" and called for helpers to join the clean-up from 10:30 BST.

Co-ordinator Bill Dale said it will be the first time the group has tackled the area this year.
