A French motorcylist died from "multiple injuries" following a crash during his Isle of Man TT festival debut, an inquest has heard.

Franck Petricola, a 32-year-old car mechanic, died on 3 June after colliding with a stone wall during a qualifying session for the TT races.

The crash was at the Sulby Crossroads in the north of the island, Douglas Court House heard.

Coroner John Needham said Mr Petricola died from "massive blunt-force trauma".

He adjourned the inquest to a yet-to-be fixed date.
