Storm Henry: Severe gales lead to IoM ferry cancellations

Storm Henry could bring winds of up to 70 mph (120 Km/h) across the Isle of Man later

Ferries have been cancelled and further weather warnings issued as the Isle of Man prepares for the arrival of Storm Henry.

The Manx Met Office said wind speeds will build through to Monday evening and could reach 75 mph (120 km/h).

A spokeswoman said severe gales are expected to hit the island from 14:00 GMT and could last until Tuesday.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company cancelled the 08:45 GMT Douglas to Heysham sailing and the 14:15 return.

A further announcement regarding the 19:45 and overnight crossing is expected later.
