Isle of Man visitor figures rise by 3.8%, government survey shows

The number of visitors to the Isle of Man increased by 3.8% last year, newly published data has revealed.

The Manx government said the total number of visitors, including those on business and tourists, was 287,534.

Visitors spent an average of 5.5 days on the island, typically each spending £378. That makes the estimated total expenditure by visitors about £108m.

The annual TT Festival was again the biggest draw to the island, with more than 43,000 people attending.

The government's annual survey provides information on levels of passenger traffic to and from the Isle of Man by sea and by air and includes tourists, local residents and business travellers.

In total there were 663,465 scheduled passenger departures compared to 641,213 in 2014 - an increase of 3.4%.
