Wallace & Gromit to star on Aardman Animations stamps

Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Morph are to appear on a new set of Isle of Man stamps.

All eight stamps feature some of the well-known clay characters by Aardman Animations to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Bristol studio.

Isle of Man Post worked with Aardman on scenes for the stamps which include Laxey Railway station and the Laxey Wheel.

The stamps are available to order online, external.

Co-founder of Aardman Peter Lord said: "We're delighted, and honoured to be celebrating 40 years of great characters, good humour and thoroughly British comedy with these lovely Isle of Man stamps."

The stamps also feature childhood favourites Timmy, and Trixie and Cuddlepuss of Creature Comforts fame.

Nick Park's Wallace & Gromit characters have previously featured on Royal Mail's 2010 Christmas stamps.
