Roadworks on a route along the western coast of the Isle of Man have been completed ahead of schedule, the infrastructure department has said.

The A27 Dalby Road had been closed from the Eairy Cushlin Road junction to the entrance of Niarbyl Road since 17 November.

A spokesman for the department said the drainage works, wall maintenance and ditch clearing had been completed a day earlier than planned.

The road reopened on Thursday evening.

During the period, surface repairs were also undertaken at several spots between the Roundtable crossroads and Dalby Village.

Further drainage works at Juan A Cleary's Bridge are set to be carried out at the start of December, at which point the road would remain open, with traffic signals in place.
